Girls Weekend!!!!

Every mom needs a break, right?? I love my kids, but I am much more patient with them when I have had a day or so to myself. Toni, Kim, and I spent the weekend at Pensacola Beach. We stayed on the beach. Friday night we ate at Hemingways and walked the boardwalk. Spent Saturday on the beach (actually in the ocean because it was so hot!) and had dinner at Peg Leg Petes. It was so much fun!! Can't wait until next year!

"Missim"

This post is dedicated to "Missim" (Miss Kim), the most awesome second Mommy Madi could have!!!
I was very fortunate that Kim was able to watch Madi again this year. It means so much to me that she is able to be in a Christian home and to know she is taken care of while I'm at work. Kim would hang the moon if Madi asked her to. She is so patient and treats Madi as her own (which is a change for her since Kim has 4 boys!!). Thank you, Kim for all you do for me and Madilyn. I hope you know how much we love you and how much I appreciate all the sacrifices you have made for us! You're amazing!!!

Goodbye First Grade, Hello Second Grade!

First grade has come to an end. What a fantastic year it was!!
Below is the picture of Austin from the first day of school. On the right, is Austin on his last day of first grade.
All smiles!!

He had a wonderful teacher, Mrs. Rinehart. She is so patient and loving with the children. And I will be forever be grateful to her for helping Austin mature into the second grader he is today. Thank you Mrs. Rinehart!!

Austin met many new friends in first grade. His closest bud was Cameron (or loving called "Camera" by Madilyn). Hopefully their friendship will continue to grow over the years!

Goodbye First Grade, Hello Second Grade...here we come!!!!

Tea for Two

This week was the last week of school. Tonight was the last night I kissed Austin goodnight as a first grader. After tomorrow, my son will be a second grader. Where did time go?
On Monday, Austin's class had a tea party and invited the parents to attend. He was insisted (to say the least) that Madi attend. Madi was excited beyond words to get to go to Austin's school.

He read a poem.

and received the "Snickers Award" for being the student always full of jokes (which fits him perfectly...even though most of them make no sense).

This was the only picture I got of the three of us and both of them had a mouth full of food. Hey...at least they were chewing with their mouth closed.
They make me so proud!

Madi's Maxims

Miss Kim was taking Madi for lunch and asked her if she was tired. Madi yawned and replied,
"I tired in my mouth."

Later that day Madi came in the room and had marker on her outfit.
Miss Kim asked, "Madi! Did you get a hold of a marker?"
Madi, pointing her finger replied,
"I not. Austin marked on my precious dress."
Austin wasn't even there, but Madi was quite convincing!

The Creek

Today was Seth and Shea Helms birthday party. They rented a pavilion at the creek and had a cookout. It was so much fun!! The kids played in the water and hiked the trails while the adults got to sit around, relax, and talk! Austin and Madilyn had the best time!!

The First 2 Weeks of May

This picture was taken on Mother's Day. I have to 2 most precious children in the world and consider them to be the greatest blessing in my life by far!! For Mother's Day I got a super nice new pool float from the kids (thanks to my mom!...thanks mom!!). After church we spent the day in the pool, relaxing, playing with my kids and enjoying my mom's company! Making me a mom is the greatest gift my children have ever (and will ever) given to me!

Prissy Pot, Drama Queen Madilyn!

D takes Austin to breakfast every Thursday morning. When he picked Austin up this week, he had a surprise. D found his cleat in the garage and look what was inside!! I bird's nest with 3 eggs! Austin took the nest to school to share with his friends! How cool!

A True Panther!!
