Fuzzy Wuzzy Worms

The catawba worms are here!!! Austin is so excited to use them to go fishing with. GG said that Papa use to pick them off the tree and put them in a brown paper bag in the fridge until he was ready to use them. And that is exactly what we did!

Catch Up Time!!

I haven't been doing a good job keeping up with the blog. I just added random pictures to show what has been going on in our life over the past few weeks. We've been very busy, but we're having a
BLAST!

Austin got his first "award." (His coach was David Wilks) He was SO proud. He told me that he has to wash it every night to keep it clean. He got started as soon as we got home. It was sparkling clean by bedtime!

Silly Kids

I walked out to check on Austin playing outside one Saturday morning, only to find that he was having a garage sale! He took it upon himself to round up stuff that he wanted to sell. Kiera would be SO proud! (notice the black boots...in his opinion, they are the COOLEST shoes ever!)

Madi loves sunglasses. Very rarely are they actually on correctly, but I happened to catch her for this picture.

Both Austin and Madilyn LOVE the pool. It has become an afternoon ritual. If Austin is good at school and doesn't get him name on the board, we get to go swimming before dinner. It's a great reward that also rewards Mommy (because they are exhausted by the time we get out). We are so lucky to have a pool at our house!

Now that Austin is a reader, Madi loves for him to read her books. He is such a good big brother!

Memory Class Presentation

Austin started attending memory class this year. They meet every Sunday between class and worship services. In memory class, they memorize Bible verses. Austin lead the class in the song of the books of the New Testament. He was so excited!

My Green-Eyed GirlHere are a couple of recent pictures of Madilyn. She's such a doll! Not only did she get my "honker" teeth, but also my green eyes. She's adorable!

Austin's First Field Trip

Madilyn and I decided to join Austin on his first field trip. We went to the Gulfarium.
The dolphin show was fun to watch. Austin's favorite trick
was when the trainer held a fish in her mouth and the dolphin
jumped up and took it.

The touch tank was also a big hit. They had all kinds of sea creatures you could pick up and feel. Madi was more into splashing everyone!

We did so many fun things. We watched a sea lion show. In the shark tank we saw lots of sharks and a giant sea turtle. The fish tanks were full of beautiful tropical fish. We had a picnic lunch at the beach before we left. It was a great day!!!

The Art of Music

Austin brought home this work of art from school today. After much contemplation, I decided to ask, "Austin, this is great! What is it?" He looked up at me and replied, "I can't remember what it is but I call it THE ART OF MUSIC."
How precious is that??

They'll Never Believe It!

This past weekend, D taught Austin had to ride his bike with "2 wheels."

He had some crashes and falls, but he never gave up. He was very determined!!!

When he finally got it, he told me to get my camera out and take pictures to send to Kiera and Brittany. He said, "They'll never believe it!!" So proud!!!

Spring Break

Whew! What fun had on Spring Break!! We all needed a break from the routine and this week was full of lots of fun!

The first part of the week was cloudy and rainy, so we tried to stay entertained at home. We had a blast playing outside with bubbles!!

On Tuesday night, Austin and I went to the fair. We had alot of fun together...just the two of us (although the Austin kept saying, "I wish Madi was here."). We rode rides, talked, and shared a funnel cake. Austin's favorite ride was the Fun Slide because (and I quote) "it makes you want to throw up, but you don't." We had a blast and were very tired by the time the night was over.

Finally on Thursday, we had a sunny day! The first one all week. We went to Navarre beach and soaked up the sun. We played and collected live sand dollars at the beach for about 4 hours and then headed over the bridge to play at the Navarre park. The kids loved the splash pad (unfortunately my camera battery went dead as soon as we arrived)!

All in all, the week was a blast!! I wouldn't have traded it for the world!!!

Got my dreams, got my life, got my love

Got my friends got the sunshine above

Why am I making this hard on myself

When there’s so many beautiful reasons

I have to be

happy!

I heard this from Natasha Bedingfield's song "Happy" and it really puts things in perspective for me.

And these are my 2 MOST beautiful reasons!!!

I love my kids!!!
